VP, Engineering at Element Science

Walt Stevens has worked in the engineering field since 1994. Walt began their career as a Research Fellow at Stanford University's Department of Aeronautics & Astronautics Composite Structures Laboratory. From 2000 to 2002, they worked at Exponent Failure Analysis Associates as an Engineering Manager, and then at Restore Medical, Inc. as an R&D Engineer until the company was acquired by Medtronic. From 2000 to 2006, they were the R&D Manager at StanGraft, Inc. and then the Sr. R&D Manager at VNUS Medical Technologies, Inc. until the company was acquired by Covidien in 2010. From 2010 to 2014, they were the Sr. Director of R&D at Covidien (Medtronic Minimally Invasive Therapies Group). From 2014 to 2018, they were the Sr. Director of Product Development at Outset Medical, Inc. and then the VP of Engineering at Invicta Medical until 2021. Walt is currently the VP of Engineering at Element Science, Inc.

Walt Stevens received their Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland between 1990 and 1994. Walt then went on to Stanford University, where they obtained their Master of Science in Aeronautics & Astronautics in 1995, followed by their PhD in the same field in 2000.
