Karla Moronta is an experienced educator with a robust background in teaching and leadership roles across various educational institutions. Currently serving as Lead Teacher at Elm Community Charter School since June 2023, Karla previously worked as a Math Specialist at Magma Math and held multiple positions at Success Academy Charter Schools, including Grade Team Lead and Lead Instructor. Karla's career began with the NYC Department of Education, where responsibilities included teaching English as a Second Language to both children and adults. Karla holds a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Linguistics from Queens College, earned between 2010 and 2013.

Elm Community Charter School is an interdisciplinary and collaborative learning environment focused on cultivating civically engaged student leaders. We are a K-5 elementary charter school located in Elmhurst, Queens. We will open our doors to Kindergarten and First Graders this upcoming Fall 2018!
