Dana Notaro is an accomplished professional in the healthcare field with extensive experience in quality assurance and administrative leadership. Currently serving as the Director of Quality Assurance and Corporate Compliance at Empower since March 2025, Dana oversees the implementation of Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Plans and manages the incident oversight process while liaising with state agencies. Prior to this role, Dana held the position of Executive Director at Elderwood, where responsibilities included launching a Memory Care Facility and mentoring administrative staff. Dana's career at Weinberg Campus spanned over 18 years, during which time administrative responsibilities expanded to include two Assisted Living Programs, budget oversight, and compliance with health regulations. Additionally, experience includes serving as VP of QA and Clinical Services at Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara, focusing on quality assurance and training across various programs. Dana holds a Master's Degree in Education with an emphasis on learning disabilities and behavioral disorders from SUNY Geneseo.

Empower
Empower provides site-based housing and in-home and community supports, as well as job training and day programs, for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities; integrated preschool special education programming for children with developmental disabilities and delays, as well as typically developing children; audiology, podiatry, dental and wheelchair clinics that serve the broader community. In 2017, Empower for Elders was launched, which provides meaningful daytime activities and care for older adults and respite for their caregivers. All of these services are provided within Niagara County; some individuals from Erie County are served.
