Edwin Schomacker

Edwin Schomacker is an experienced professional in the field of geoscience and exploration, currently serving as Subsurface Manager for Shared Services - Structure and Petroleum Systems and previously as Exploration Manager for Geoscience Excellence at Equinor since May 2018. Prior to that, Edwin held various leadership roles, including Project Leader for exploration initiatives in the Norwegian Sea and Australia. At Statoil, from August 2008 to May 2018, positions included Technical Project Lead for international exploration efforts in Myanmar and South Africa, along with roles as Principal Geologist in Tanzania and Senior Geologist for Cuba and Global New Ventures. Earlier experience includes research roles at the University of Oslo, where Edwin also completed a Ph.D. in fluvial sedimentology and stratigraphy, along with other degrees in sedimentpetrography and earth science.
