Jürgen Schmitz

Jürgen Schmitz is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in the insurance sector, currently serving as the CEO of ERGO China and a member of the Board of Management at ERGO International AG since January 2006. Previous roles include Executive Director of ERGO Turkey and Head of Underwriting and Claims for Life Germany. Prior to joining ERGO, Schmitz led operations and service at Deutscher Ring Bausparkasse AG and worked as a Senior Associate at McKinsey & Company. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Finance from London Business School and a Master of Arts in Sinology, Japanology, and International Business from the University of Hamburg, supplemented by studies at Peking University and The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg.
