Head Of Customer Engagement at Esri Ireland

Michael Byrne has a diverse range of work experience in the field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Michael began their career as a Geotechnologist at Crowe Schaffalitzky Associates in 1993 and worked there until 1999. Michael then joined An Post as a GIS and Database Manager from 1999 to 2000. Following that, they worked at Mapflow as a Content and Mapping role from 2000 to 2002. In 2002, they joined Esri Ireland as the Head of Professional Services, a position they held until 2009. Michael then transitioned to Customer Services Development at Esri Ireland from 2009 to 2011. From 2011 to 2018, they served as an Account Executive, responsible for customer engagement and business development. From 2018 to 2021, they worked as the Market Engagement Manager at Esri Ireland, leading sector-wide engagement and national initiatives. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Customer Engagement at Esri Ireland.

Michael Byrne attended Trinity College Dublin from 1989 to 1993, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts with Honors degree in Geology. In 2008, they completed the Senior Executive Programme at the Irish Management Institute. From 2009 to 2012, Michael pursued a Higher Diploma in Psychology at Dublin Business School. In 2021, they enrolled in the Irish Management Institute for a Diploma in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services. In 2023, Michael obtained an EMCC Global Individual Accreditation from EMCC, specializing in Coaching & Mentoring. Michael also received the EMCC Global Individual Accreditation (EIA Professional Designation) Senior Practitioner certification from EMCC Global in August 2023.
