Hugo Rego Campello

Hugo Rego Campello, Ph.D., currently serves as the Industrial Process Leader at ESTEVE, having transitioned from the role of Process Development Specialist at AGC Pharma Chemicals Europe. With a robust background in pharmaceutical process development, Hugo played a key role in transforming AGC Pharma into a modern CDMO. Prior to that, as Associate Principal Scientist at Pharmaron, responsibilities included managing pharmaceutical process development and manufacturing of APIs under GMP conditions. Hugo's academic journey includes a postdoctoral position at the University of Bristol, where project management focused on drug discovery for addiction treatment, along with contributions to an antimicrobial drug discovery project as a Research Associate. Hugo earned a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Bristol, studying new synthetic methodologies for nicotinic receptor ligands, and holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of A Coruña.
