Eurofins Viracor
Curtis Bacon, PhD, is a Senior Scientist I at Eurofins Viracor since May 2022, leading the development of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) diagnostics for infectious diseases within a CAP/CLIA environment. Previously, as a Research Scientist III at the Stowers Institute for Medical Research from April 2020 to April 2022, Curtis co-led a project focusing on identifying DNA variants associated with genetic diseases, while effectively coordinating with team members. Prior experience includes a role as a Graduate Student Research Assistant at UT Southwestern from August 2014 to April 2020, where Curtis identified KAP1/TRIM28 as a significant regulator in cancer pathways. Earlier positions include contributions as an Undergraduate Lab Assistant at Oklahoma State University and participation in summer research programs at the University of Georgia. Curtis holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from UT Southwestern Medical Center and a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Oklahoma State University.
