Peter de Buysscher

Peter De Buysscher currently serves as the Vice-president for Europe on the Executive Committee of INTERPOL since October 2022. With a long-standing career at the Belgian Federal Police since February 2001, Peter has held various key positions, including Director of International Police Cooperation, Acting Director of Operational Police Information, and Judicial Director. Peter's educational background includes a Graduate degree from the National Executive Institute of the FBI and the University of Virginia in 2017, along with a Master's in Criminology from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (2001-2005) and a Bachelor's in Social Work from the Hoger Instituut voor Maatschappelijk en Cultureel Werk in Brussels (1981-1984). Additionally, Peter completed a leadership program at the School voor Politieleiderschap and the Clingendael Institute from 2006 to 2007.
