Tom Kehr, CTS-D, CTS-I, LEED Green Associate, has an extensive work experience in the audiovisual industry. Tom is currently working at Almo Professional A/V as a Systems Designer and Trainer since September 2020. Prior to that, they worked at AVIXA as a Senior Staff Instructor for 14 years, where they facilitated practical instruction and developed technical curriculum for audiovisual system design and installation.
Before joining AVIXA, Tom worked at Avitecture, Inc. as a Senior Audiovisual Systems Designer, leading the design of a $5M project for a government client. Tom also created and designed multimedia systems for corporate, government, and educational clients.
Tom's career started in 1991, when they owned and operated Small Time Sound, a part-time regional sound reinforcement company. Tom provided sound services for various events and consulted with clients to meet their audio requirements.
Prior to that, Tom worked at Systems Wireless, LTD. as a Purchasing and Shipping Manager. Tom oversaw corporate purchases, fostered vendor relationships, and doubled revenue in eight years.
Tom's expertise and experience in the audiovisual industry make him a highly qualified professional in system design and training.
Tom Kehr, CTS-D, CTS-I, LEED Green Associate, obtained an Associate's degree in Practical Theology from CFNI, graduating in 1986. In terms of additional certifications, Tom has earned several qualifications from various institutions. These include the Certified Technology Specialist - Design certification from InfoComm International in October 2001, the Certified Technology Specialist - Installation certification from AVIXA in October 2006, and the LEED Green Associate certification from the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) in January 2010. Additional certifications obtained by Tom include the Network+ certification from CompTIA in April 2012, the Dante Certification Level 2 from Audinate in December 2020, and the Dante Certification Level 3 from Audinate in January 2021. Tom also holds the Microsoft Teams Rooms Technical Solutions Professional Exam Badge from Microsoft, obtained in May 2023. Furthermore, they have the ISF-C certification from the Imaging Science Foundation and is a Master Trainer from the Association for Talent Development (ATD). Tom also holds a certification in Sound System Operations and Design from SynAudCon - Synergetic Audio Concepts, although the obtaining month and year are unspecified.
