Niren Murugan

Niren Murugan has extensive experience in the agriculture and chemical industries, currently serving as the Regional Head for West and Southern Africa at Export Trading Group since November 2017, where responsibilities include managing sourcing, trade, and distribution of agricultural inputs and industrial mining chemical products. Prior to this, Niren held the position of Managing Director at Gavilon Group, LLC from February 2011 to October 2017, overseeing fertilizer wholesale and distribution in Sub-Saharan Africa. Niren's career began as a Financial Controller at Louis Dreyfus Commodities from February 2002 to January 2011, focusing on treasury and finance for agricultural soft commodities in the region. Niren has a Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Management from the University of South Africa and a background in Cost and Management Accounting from Durban University of Technology, complemented by further education at INSEAD.
