Helena Josefson currently serves as Avdelningschef styrning, ledning, metod, stf GD at FBA (Folke Bernadotteakademin) since August 2021. Prior experience includes a role as Departementsråd at the Regeringskansliet, Kulturdepartementet, where responsibilities involved investigating cultural council operations. Helena held the position of Tf myndighetschef at Myndigheten för stöd till trossamfund, overseeing the implementation of government policies related to crisis preparedness, grant-making, and collaborations with faith communities. Between 2005 and 2020, Helena progressed through various roles at the Regeringskansliet, notably leading teams focused on media and democracy as well as civic society initiatives. Earlier career experiences include positions at several departments within the Regeringskansliet, with initial roles in consultancy and project management. Helena holds a Master’s degree in EU public affairs from the College of Europe and a Filosofie masterexamen in political science from the University of Gothenburg.

The Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA) is the Swedish government agency for peace, security and development. FBA supports international peace operations and international development cooperation. The agency conducts training, research and method development in order to strengthen peacebuilding and statebuilding in conflict and post-conflict countries. We also recruit civilian personnel and expertise for peace operations and election observation missions led by the EU, UN and OSCE. The agency is named after Count Folke Bernadotte, the first UN mediator. Here on Linkedin we share the latest news from our activities.
