Benjamin Carlisle

Benjamin Carlisle is an experienced attorney specializing in environmental law and litigation. Currently serving as an Attorney Advisor at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission since December 2021, Benjamin previously held the position of Senior Attorney in the Environment & Natural Resources Division at the U.S. Department of Justice from January 2015 to December 2021, where responsibilities included leading defense-side litigation of civil environmental cases. Benjamin's legal career also encompasses roles such as Trial Attorney and Law Clerk at the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, Law Clerk for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and Associate at Morrison & Foerster LLP. Benjamin holds a Juris Doctor degree, summa cum laude, from Cornell Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry and Religion from Swarthmore College.
