Sami Laine

Sami Laine has extensive experience in aviation, currently serving as a Captain and First Officer at Finnair since February 2007, with responsibilities including co-piloting in the Airbus 320/330 fleet. Sami is also a member of the Finnair Innovation Team, focusing on product improvement through creative solutions, and serves as Editor in Chief of Finnair Safety Magazine, which enhances safety knowledge within the organization. Additional roles include Flight Safety Analyst and Safety Instructor, responsible for flight data monitoring and safety training. Sami's involvement in aviation safety extends to previous memberships in various safety committees and groups, including the Accident Analysis and Prevention Working Group at IFALPA. Prior experience includes flight safety investigations at Aero Airlines and a background as a Coastguard/Radio Operator with the Gulf of Finland Coast Guard. Sami holds an MSc in Safety and Accident Investigation from Cranfield University and multiple aviation training credentials.
