Josh Royster

Josh Royster is a seasoned legal professional currently serving as Senior Assistant Chief Counsel and Head of Litigation at First Citizens Bank since May 2022. Prior to this role, Josh Royster accumulated significant experience at the United States Attorneys' Offices from March 2005 to May 2022, where responsibilities included Chief of the Civil Division, Deputy Chief of the Civil Division, and Assistant U.S. Attorney in both the Civil and Criminal Divisions. Earlier in the career, Josh Royster was an Associate at Maupin Taylor, P.A. from August 2002 to March 2005. Academically, Josh Royster earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of North Carolina School of Law (1999 - 2002) and a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Campbell University (1993 - 1997).
