John has been General Secretary of the NSW Teachers Federation since 2014.
John has been General Secretary of the NSW Teachers Federation since 2014. Before this, he held the role of Deputy General Secretary – Communications and Administration of the NSW Teachers Federation where he introduced new technology and social media platforms for effective communication with members and the wider community. This also included developing groundbreaking union based Apps on smart devices.
From 1987-2002, John was Membership Officer/Organiser of the NSW Teachers Federation and held teaching positions from 1979-1987.
John was appointed to the Board of Aware Super Pty Ltd in 2020. He is a member of the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee, a member of the Remuneration and Human Resources Committee.
