Aware Super
Philip is one of the founding Directors of Nexus Initiative, an investment management organisation delivering capital to economically sustainable, impact enterprises and projects that provides direct benefit to people and communities. He is also a PhD Candidate in experimental psychology at The University of Sydney.
Before this, he was Partner at Asset Management firm Goldman Sachs in London and Sydney from 1999-2019. During this time, Philip was also Chairman of Goldman Sachs Australia Managed Fund Board and a member of the Goldman Sachs Australia and New Zealand Operating Committee.
From 1996-1999, Philip held the position of Executive Vice President at Tokai Asia in Hong Kong. Prior to this, he held many senior roles within Bankers Trust Australia and commenced his career as a Cadet Economist in the Research Department of the Reserve Bank of Australia.
Philip is also the Chairman of the Foundation at Newington College and has held this position since 2014. He is an active patrol member of the South Narrabeen Surf Lifesaving Club.
Philip was appointed to the Board of Aware Super Pty Ltd jointly by the Secretary of Premiers and Cabinet and Secretary of Treasury in 2020. He is a member of the Investment Committee and Direct Assets Committee.

Aware Super has been the fund for people who value community as well as personal gain since 1992. In July 2020 they merged with VicSuper and together they are one of Australia’s largest super funds, managing more than $120 billion in savings for more than 1 million members.
