Allen Puwalski

Allen Puwalski, CFA, is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in investment management and risk assessment. Currently serving as a Board Member and Risk Committee Chair at Flagstar Bank, Allen has also held the position of Chief Investment Officer and Managing Partner at Cybiont Capital, LLC since September 2019. Previously, Allen led the Community Bank Strategy at SoFi and was a Partner at Paulson & Company, where significant achievements included managing a $50 billion bank credit default swap portfolio and establishing successful equity short positions in failing financial institutions. Allen's experience extends to roles at OneWest Bank, as a director on the Audit and Compensation Committees, and as a FASAC Member for the Financial Accounting Standards Board. Allen's career began with the FDIC as a Chief Bank Analyst and includes expertise in financial sector analysis at CFRA Research. Allen holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Philosophy from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Theological Studies at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
