Since our formation in 1981, Formaspace has been handcrafting furniture for spaces that required a unique solution. We saw a need for spaces to have furniture that was as dynamic and flexible as the people in and around them and our team fulfilled it. We are comprised of artisans, engineers and innovators that are inspired by our city. A city that embraces tradition, innovation, and the occasional weirdness, which creates a cohesive ecosystem in the space it fills. The communal allure of Zilker Park, the inviting and comforting presence of the Capital on Congress, and the cross section of art and culture in Graffiti Park has taught us that not all spaces are crafted equally. Our practice is rooted in the traditions of industrial design that you might find in the Austin Power Plant, blended with the eclectic and rule defying art that fills late night dive bars in East Austin. Eager to create, we see new spaces as different environments and our mission is to help you define them.
