R. Paxton Thedford

R. Paxton Thedford is an accomplished Materials Scientist at Formlabs since July 2022, bringing a wealth of experience from academia and industry. Previously, R. Paxton Thedford served as an NSF Graduate Research Fellow at Cornell University from August 2016 to February 2022, focusing on quantum metamaterials under the guidance of advisors Ulrich Wiesner and Sol Gruner, while also managing purchasing and equipment maintenance for a research group. Additional experience includes an Engineering Consultant role at Lazarus Energy Holdings, LLC, where R. Paxton Thedford modeled and analyzed distillation processes, a Corporate R&D Internship at 3M that achieved a 60% increase in yield for pressure-sensitive adhesives, and a Process Safety Engineering Internship at LyondellBasell. R. Paxton Thedford holds a PhD in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Cornell University and a BS in Chemical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
