Nitya is the CEO and co-founder of FortunaHLTH, a healthcare cybersecurity company. Having worked in healthcare consulting, policy and intervention research, and behavioral and predictive analytics, she is a strong advocate for gender equity and diversity and serves as an Advisor for Diversity & Inclusion at Fortuna PIX as well as MMTC-PAMP, a Swiss-Indian joint venture and India's largest precious metals refinery. In 2017, the BBC named Nitya as one of their 100 Women of 2017 – a list of global women innovators and change-makers. She has also been interviewed by BBC worldwide radio as an expert on gender disparities in education and technology. She has a PhD in Social Science and Public Health from Columbia University, a Masters in Biomedical Ethics from Case Western Reserve University, and a Bachelors in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from UCLA.
