Brian Birney has over 25 years of experience in the technology industry. Brian started their career in 1994 as an Associate Consultant in the IT Practice at Booz-Allen & Hamilton, Inc. In 1995, they moved to Zip2, Inc. as a Senior Product Manager. In 1997, they joined Excite@Home, Inc. as Senior Director of Business Development for e-commerce and Work.com. Brian then moved to GameChange LLC in 2000 as Vice President of Business Development. In 2002, they founded NRI Development Corporation and evaluated, speculatively acquired, and developed properties for resale. In 2011, they joined Riverbed Technology as Director of Sales and Marketing Operations for the SteelApp (Virtual ADC) Business Unit. In 2015, they moved to Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. as Director of Corporate Sales Operations for Software. In 2017, they joined Ruckus Networks as Senior Director of Sales Operations, where they were responsible for CRM (SFDC) and POS systems. In 2019, they moved to CommScope as Senior Director of Sales Operations for the Customer Experience Team, where they were responsible for deals desk management and global project lead for the integration of multiple, disparate pricing approvals systems/workflows. In 2022, they joined Forward Networks, Inc. as the Head of Sales Operations.
Brian Birney obtained an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, and a BA in Economics from Stanford University. Brian also obtained a Salesforce Certified Administrator certification from Salesforce in April 2017.
