Ruth Sommers has an extensive work experience in the retail industry, particularly in production, sourcing, and operations. Ruth is currently the President of Foundrae Fine Jewelry since November 2021. Previously, they founded and served as CEO of NEXTConsulting US starting from January 2019.
Before that, Ruth held leadership positions in well-known companies such as Blue Nile, where they were the Chief Operating Officer from October 2017 to October 2018. At David Yurman, they also served as the Chief Operating Officer from November 2012 to October 2017. Prior to that, they were the Founder/Owner of Noi Solutions from May 2009 to March 2013.
Ruth's experience in executive roles includes being the Chief Sourcing and Production Officer at American Eagle Outfitters from March 2007 to July 2008, and the Managing Director at Ann Taylor Inc. from February 2006 to March 2007.
Additionally, Ruth held the position of EVP Production and Sourcing at Victoria's Secret Direct from 2001 to 2006, and was the SVP, Regional Director Asia at Mast Industries from June 1995 to December 2000. Ruth was based in Hong Kong and Sri Lanka and had responsibilities for intimate apparel production, with Victoria's Secret Stores being their largest customer. Ruth also played a key role in opening the Mast office in Sri Lanka.
Ruth Sommers obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Lake Forest College between 1980 and 1984. Ruth later went on to pursue an MBA at the MIT Sloan School of Management from 2000 to 2001, although their specific field of study during this period is not mentioned.

Foundrae is a reminder, one we wear against our hearts or on our hands, of our capacity for change and growth. When you wear one of these pieces, you are announcing to yourself and to the world that everything you want and everything you want to be is already inside you - all you have to do is claim it. 100% of assembly & finishing of pieces is completed in house at our NYC studio. More than 60% of our styles are crafted in New York. We only work with a select few workshops that have expert craftsmanship and are similarly committed to human rights, ethics and social and environmental responsibility.
