Frontex
Adrian Macovei currently serves as an Agent in the EU Reintegration Programme at Frontex, a position held since September 2023. Prior to this, Adrian held the role of Vice President at the Heritage Association Romania, a partner of UNESCO, from September 2016 to May 2024. Additional experience includes working as a Compliance Expert focusing on international sanctions and embargoes at Societe Generale Global Solution Centre Romania, as well as serving as a Project Assistant and Operations Assistant at the IOM - UN Migration Agency. In May 2018, Adrian acted as an International Observer at Frontex and completed a stint as a Trainee Junior Advisor at the Permanent Mission of Romania to the United Nations from September 2014 to March 2015. Academic qualifications include a Master of Social Sciences in International Security and Law from Syddansk Universitet, a Master's in International Relations Management and Cross Border Cooperation from Universitatea „Ștefan cel Mare” din Suceava, and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and European Studies from the same institution.
