Jean-Marc Taymans serves as the President of the Fulbright Alumni Association of Belgium since June 2024 and is currently the Section Chief Editor at Frontiers in Molecular Neuroscience. With extensive experience in neuroscience, Jean-Marc has held the position of Associate Professor at UMR-S 1172 Lille Neuroscience & Cognition since January 2020 and previously served in similar roles at the Jean-Pierre Aubert Research Center and KU Leuven, focusing on cellular signaling processes in brain disorders and the study of proteins linked to Parkinson's disease. Jean-Marc completed postdoctoral fellowships at the National Institute on Aging and Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies, and earned a PhD in Neuroscience from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Educational background also includes a Bachelor's degree in Political Sciences and International Relations from Université catholique de Louvain and a Bio-Ir in Chemistry from KU Leuven.
