Selim Basak is a finance professional with extensive experience in emerging markets and alternative investments. As Co-Founder of GEMCORP since November 2013, Selim has played a pivotal role in managing over $1 billion in committed capital within a firm focused on emerging markets. Prior to this, Selim held senior positions at notable financial institutions, including Managing Director at Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs, specializing in Emerging Markets Sales and FICC. With a foundational career beginning as an Analyst at Merrill Lynch, Selim's experience also includes roles on the Supervisory Board at Deutsche Bank Polska and as a Board Member at DD Mortgage. Selim holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BS in Economics from The Wharton School.
