Protein Biochemist at Genective

Yuanyuan Hu is a protein biochemist at Genective. Yuanyuan received their Ph.D. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in September 2021. While at UIUC, they worked on identifying new pathways for synthesizing biotin pimeloyl-ACP in alpha-proteobacteria and demonstrating substrate promiscuity in lipoic acid assembly and relay during cofactor attachment to proteins. Prior to their time at UIUC, Yuanyuan conducted research on a widespread pathway of converting glutarate in bacterial lysine degradation as part of their undergraduate studies at Zhejiang University.

Ms. Hu attended Guangxi University for both their Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology and their Master of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Yuanyuan then went on to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for their educational career.
