Zhiqiang Wang

Zhiqiang (Daniel) Wang is a seasoned expert in cell therapy, gene engineering, and immunotherapy, currently serving as a Senior Principal Scientist at Genentech since August 2022. Prior to this role, Zhiqiang held various positions at City of Hope from July 2008 to August 2022, including Assistant Research Professor, where significant contributions were made to the development of iPSC-derived CAR T cells and involvement as co-PI in CAR T cell translation projects. Zhiqiang's earlier experience includes research on cancer biology, drug discovery, and epigenetic regulation during postdoctoral roles at USC and additional academic training at Zhejiang University, culminating in a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Toxicology. Zhiqiang has a strong publication record and has been awarded several Chinese patents, demonstrating a significant impact on advancements in cancer therapeutics and stem cell research.
