Yun-Yu Lai

Yun-Yu Lai is a Polymer Electrolyte Engineer and Battery Engineer at BrightVolt, with experience developing polymer electrolyte composites for lithium-ion batteries since April 2022. Prior to this role, Yun-Yu served as a PhD candidate at The University of Akron, focusing on high-voltage pre-polymers for solid-state batteries. Yun-Yu has also worked as an R&D Intern at Sherwin-Williams, where responsibilities included evaluating polyols and isocyanates and formulating high-solid waterborne coatings for the automotive industry. Earlier experience includes a position as a Research Associate at the Industrial Technology Research Institute, where the development of transparent and thermally stable dry film materials for touch panel packaging was a primary focus. Yun-Yu holds a PhD in Polymer Science from The University of Akron, a Master of Science in Materials Chemistry from National Chiao Tung University, and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Chemistry from the same institution.
