Genomics England
Alison Welsh is an experienced Scrum Master currently serving as a Scrum Master - Squad Coach at Genomics England since March 2022. Previously, Alison held the position of Scrum Master Specialist at BT from October 2020 to March 2022, and worked as a Scrum Master at Gradwell for a brief period in 2020. Alison also contributed as a Team Coach at GoCompare between February 2019 and February 2020, and served as a Scrum Master at NHS Blood and Transplant from February 2009 to February 2019, supporting the Organ Donation Hub Project. In addition to these roles, Alison worked as an Information Analyst at Bristol Ladies Rugby, a Club Secretary, and as a Match Services Assistant during the Rugby World Cup 2015. Prior experience includes project administration at Atkins. Alison is an alumnus of the University of the West of England, with additional education from QA International.

Genomics England is a wholly owned company of the Department of Health set up to deliver the 100,000 Genomes Project. It was made possible by the National Institute for Health Research, NHS England, Public Health England, and Health Education England.Genomics England sequences 100,000 whole genomes from NHS patients and their families. Its fourmain aims include bringing benefit to patients, creating an ethical and transparent program based on consent, supporting new scientific discovery and medical insights, and kick-starting the development of the U.K. genomics industry.Genomics England is focusing on patients with rare diseases, and their families, as well as patients with common cancers. It was announced by Jeremy Hunt, Secretary of State for Health, as part of the NHS 65th birthday celebrations in 2013. It is based in London, England.
