Dr. Simon Daum

Dr. Simon Daum serves as the Head of Research at genua GmbH since April 2021, following a role as Projektmanager F&E at think project! from December 2017 to March 2021. Prior experience includes positions as Senior Software Engineer at Proxia Software AG and Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter at Technische Universität München, where research focused on developing a spatio-temporal query language for 4D building models. Earlier roles also include Softwareentwickler at mobileX AG and freelance media designer. Dr. Daum holds a dissertation in Bauinformatik from the Technical University of Munich and a Diplom-Ingenieur (FH) degree in Vermessung und Geoinformatik from Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences, along with training as a camera operator from the Bayerische Akademie für Fernsehen. Research interests encompass digital building models, standardized data modeling, geometric algorithms, spatial indexing techniques, and language design and compiler construction.
