Lawrence Rubin

Lawrence Rubin is an Associate Professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology, with a focus on Middle East politics and international security, and has held this position since August 2016. In addition, Rubin serves as an Associate Fellow at the International Institute for Strategic Studies since July 2019 and has been the editor for the journal Terrorism and Political Violence since 2006. Rubin's previous experience includes a role as an International Affairs Fellow at the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Policy, specializing in Middle East policy and countering weapons of mass destruction from August 2017 to August 2018. Rubin also worked as an Assistant Professor at the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs from 2010 to 2016 and has held various academic positions, including Research Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School and Lecturer at Brandeis University. Educational qualifications include a BA in History from the University of California, Berkeley, a PhD in Political Science from UCLA, and additional degrees from Oxford and LSE.
