Kal Ismail

Kal Ismail, PMP, is a seasoned project manager and data engineer with extensive experience in managing Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) applications. Currently serving as Project Manager/Sr. Data Engineer at Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc. since October 2022, Kal oversees budget management, team support, and projects involving implementations, upgrades, automation, and AI integrations. Prior to this role, Kal spent over eight years at Bayer Crop Science as a Senior IT Application/Program Manager, focusing on similar responsibilities related to LIMS. Earlier career roles include IT Program Manager Consultant at Progent and Information Technology Program Manager at Baytechs, where infrastructure projects for clients were managed. Kal holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the School of Engineering, obtained between 1993 and 1998.
