Sharad Malhotra is a GIP Emerging Markets Partner, having joined GIP in 2008. He is based in Mumbai, India.
At GIP, he has been a part of its Global Energy and Transport investment teams in New York and London. Most recently, prior to relocating to Mumbai in 2018, he was based in New York and was responsible for GIP’s North America Transport origination.
Prior to GIP, Mr. Malhotra was an Associate in the Global Power Group of the Investment Banking Division at Lehman Brothers in New York. Previously, he was a Manager with Enron Corp. in Houston where he was responsible for corporate and project finance and business development activities globally.
Mr. Malhotra holds a B.A. in Economics and Business Administration from Illinois Wesleyan University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
