Frieder Baumann

Frieder Baumann is a highly experienced technical professional in the field of electron microscopy and data analysis. Currently serving as Principal Member of Technical Staff at GLOBALFOUNDRIES since July 2015, Baumann specializes in advanced electron microscopy, electron tomography, and custom software development. Prior experience includes a tenure as Senior Engineer at IBM, where expertise in elemental analysis and data mining was developed, and at Philips, focusing on device simulation of silicon devices. Baumann's career began at AT&T and Lucent Technologies, with roles that involved high-resolution electron microscopy and photonic device fabrication. Baumann holds a Ph.D. in Physics from The University of Göttingen, along with a Diplom-Physiker (MS) and a Vordiplom from Bielefeld University and The University of Göttingen, respectively.
