Ken Mcavey

Ken McAvey is Senior Vice President and General Manager of GF’s 200mm semiconductor manufacturing operations in Essex Junction, Vermont.

Mr. McAvey leads the Vermont team through the continued evolution of semiconductor manufacturing production and support for its customers of GF’s world-leading 200mm RF technology.

Mr. McAvey began his career with IBM Microelectronics as a process engineer, going on to hold a variety of technical and leadership positions and eventually becoming the Director of Manufacturing Engineering in 2014. Following IBM’s Microelectronics division acquisition by GF in 2015, Mr. McAvey held several leadership positions at GF including Senior Director of Central Engineering and most recently, Senior Director of Manufacturing Engineering at GF Vermont.

Mr. McAvey received his bachelor of science degree with distinction in Chemical Engineering from Clarkson University in 1997, along with a master’s degree in Engineering and Operations Management from Clarkson in 2008.
