Payel Roy Chowdhury

Payel Roy Chowdhury serves as the Head of PMO for Smart Metering projects at GMR Group since April 2025, overseeing comprehensive program management of smart metering initiatives. Previously, Payel was the Lead at PMO for Iskraemeco from January 2021 to April 2025 and founded Tea Cheers, a premium Darjeeling tea brand, between May 2019 and January 2024. In the freelance domain, Payel worked as an Author & Manuscript Consultant from March 2016 to October 2022 and provided Electrical & Power Consulting from July 2019 to January 2021. Prior roles include Technical Head at RGM International Group and Senior Design Engineer & Consultant at AKBPCPL, along with teaching positions at Padmanava College of Engineering and Priyadarshini Polytechnic. Payel holds a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from SSGM College of Engineering, completed in 1999.
