Ganesh Sankarakumar

Ganesh Sankarakumar is a seasoned engineering leader with extensive experience in the technology sector, having worked at Google and Microsoft. As Director of Engineering for Display & Video 360 at Google from October 2015 to September 2021, Ganesh led initiatives related to media unification and business growth, while navigating challenges like dwindling ids to optimize advertiser ROI. Prior roles at Google included Senior Staff Software Engineer and Staff Software Engineer, where key contributions involved developing custom bidding algorithms and building the DoubleClick Bid Manager into a significant revenue generator. At Microsoft, spanning from September 2002 to October 2015, Ganesh held progressive roles culminating in Group Engineering Manager, focusing on improving Bing API performance, crafting core infrastructure, and leading the development of critical Windows Server tools. Before Microsoft, Ganesh had a foundational role in developing prototypes at Novell and contributed to early R&D at Daimler Chrysler. Ganesh holds a B.E. (Hons) in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
