Ruairi H. has a diverse work experience in quantitative finance and investment management. Ruairi is currently the Chief Investment Officer at Firinne Capital since 2021. Prior to that, they co-founded Grain Discovery in 2018 and served as the Chief Architect. Before that, they worked at CPP Investment Board from 2014 to 2018, where they held the role of Quantitative Researcher from 2017 to 2018 and Associate in Global Corporate Securities, Quantitative Investing from 2014 to 2017. Earlier in their career, they worked at FINCAD as a Consultant, providing consulting services to hedge funds and investment banks in New York. Ruairi also worked as a Quantitative Analyst and Client Services, where they provided cross-asset class consulting and engaged in professional service opportunities related to pricing, risk, and hybrid modeling. Ruairi has experience in developing Monte Carlo engines and writing technical marketing material.
Ruairi H. completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Theoretical Physics at Trinity College, University of Dublin from 2000 to 2004. Ruairi continued their education at the same university and obtained their Ph.D. in Theoretical/Computational Physics from 2004 to 2009.
In addition to their formal education, Ruairi H. also earned certifications in Machine Learning from Coursera in May 2014 and Startup Engineering from Coursera in September 2013.
