HALCON
Andre van Rooyen is an accomplished engineering director with extensive experience in development engineering and project management within the defense industry. Currently serving as Director of Development Engineering at HALCON since August 2019, Andre has focused on enhancing the engineering group's functional capabilities. Previous roles include establishing the Development Engineering group at HALCON and serving as a Development Project Manager at AIRBUS DS-Optronics, where new products were developed for international markets. Andre also managed military vehicle contracts at BAE Systems and oversaw local projects for the SANDF at Thales Defense Systems. Early in career, technical contributions were made at Denel, Kentron in electro-optical systems. Educational qualifications include a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Engineering with Honors in Electronics from the University of Pretoria.
