Alex Stovell

Alex Stovell serves as Innovation Principal Scientist at Haleon since July 2022, with a prior tenure at GSK Consumer Healthcare from February 2002 to July 2022 in various roles including Innovation Principal Scientist and Principal Development Scientist. Stovell specializes in exploring consumer needs and technologies, developing early-stage projects, and linking consumer claims to scientific backing. Previous positions included leadership in R&D for oral care product development, secondments focusing on oral health innovation and cold & flu projects, as well as foundational work in analytical method development at the Institute of Naval Medicine and SmithKline Beecham. Stovell holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Surrey, where the thesis addressed trace elements and human fertility, alongside a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from the same institution.
