Aref Al-Tamimi

Senior Manager, National Cyber Security Research Lab at Hamad Bin Khalifa University

Aref Al-Tamimi has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as a Research Assistant at Qatar Computing Research Institute from September 2011 to December 2013. Aref then progressed to the position of Software Engineer at the same organization from January 2014 to December 2018. Aref then transitioned into the role of Senior Software Engineer from January 2019 to June 2021. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Manager, National Cyber Security Research Lab at Qatar Computing Research Institute, starting from June 2021. Prior to their tenure at Qatar Computing Research Institute, Aref worked as the Owner of Microtech from January 2000 to December 2010.

Aref Al-Tamimi completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Computer Science & Engineering from Hamad Bin Khalifa University, where they studied from 2016 to 2019. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Engineering - MEng degree in Nano Technologies, Electronics and Communications Engineering from ESIEE PARIS, where they studied from 2011 to 2013.
