Robert Watkins is an experienced publishing professional currently serving as a Board Member for the Sydney Writers' Festival since April 2023. Robert has held the position of Publishing Director at Hardie Grant Publishing's Ultimo Press since November 2020. Prior to this, Robert Watkins spent several years at Hachette Australia Books, where roles included Head of Literary, Head of Illustrated, Publisher, and Commissioning Editor from January 2013 to November 2020. Earlier positions included Marketing Manager, Publicity Manager, and Account Manager at Hachette Australia from January 2008 to October 2012, as well as State Manager for NSW and QLD at QBD The Bookshop from January 1996 to January 2008.
