Jon Jacobsen

Jon Jacobsen is a distinguished academic with extensive experience in mathematics education and administration at Harvey Mudd College since July 2002, holding positions including Professor of Mathematics, Mathematics Department Chair, Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, and previously Associate and Assistant Professor of Mathematics. Prior roles include Visiting Scholar at the University of Alberta, Chowla Research Professor at Penn State University, and Graduate Teaching Assistant at both the University of Utah and California Polytechnic State University. Jon Jacobsen holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Utah, a Master’s Degree from California Polytechnic State University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from the same institution, along with early work experience in various roles, including as a pizza chef and stockboy.
