Dara Barrera

Dara Barrera serves as the Director of Health Quality, Equity and Technology at the Michigan State Medical Society since January 2010, in addition to holding the position of President for the HIMSS Michigan Chapter since August 2019. Prior experience includes roles as Manager of Practice Management and HIT at the Michigan State Medical Society, Implementation Consultant at Medical Advantage Group, and Assistant Store Manager at Sears, Roebuck and Co. Additionally, Dara has experience in medical sales as a Senior Medical Sales Representative at MedPointe Pharmaceuticals and as a Sales Professional at Sanofi. Early career roles include Outside Sales Representative and Field Supervisor at Albin Business Centers. Dara Barrera obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Merchandising Management from Michigan State University, where studies were completed from 1993 to 1997, after attending Nouvel Catholic Central from 1989 to 1993.
