Long Tan

Long Tan is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Currently serving as a Senior AI/ML Engineer at Hireguide since May 2025, Long Tan previously co-founded Penfield.AI, where roles included Co-Founder/CTO, Head of Engineering, and Lead Software Engineer from August 2021 to May 2025. Prior experience includes a Senior Software Engineer position at Wattpad from June 2018 to August 2021, and a Full Stack Web Developer role at the University of Toronto in early 2018. Long Tan's career in web development began at Wattpad as a Frontend Engineer from 2016 to 2017, complemented by a background in technical support at the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Toronto, a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Business and Management from Nottingham University Business School.
