Evan Downing

Evan Downing currently serves as a Senior Security Engineer specializing in AI/ML at Trail of Bits, where a team effort led to a $2 million award as a semi-finalist in the AIxCC competition in 2024 and initiated benchmarking projects for OpenSearch and Elasticsearch on AWS. Prior to this role, Evan Downing was a Graduate Research Assistant and Graduate Teaching Assistant at Georgia Institute of Technology, contributing to cybersecurity research and education under the mentorship of Prof. Wenke Lee. Evan Downing also gained experience as a Research Intern at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, focusing on intrusion detection and Human-Computer Interaction projects. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
