Evan Schoonmaker has an extensive work experience in the field of visual effects and art. Evan currently holds the position of VFX Creative Director & Head of 2D at Hornet, where they utilize their creative ideas and expertise in executing visual effects for live-action projects. Prior to Hornet, Evan worked at Psyop as a Visual Effects Supervisor, overseeing the development and production of visual effects projects. Evan also managed the compositing department at Psyop NY. Before joining Psyop, Evan served as a Lead Flame Artist and Visual Effects Supervisor at MPC, where they worked on epic projects and collaborated with multiple offices worldwide. Evan began their career as a Flame Artist at Charlex, where they gained experience working with high-profile clients and honed their creative problem-solving skills. In addition, they have freelanced for several post houses and artists in New York City, further enhancing their skills in both art and business.
Evan Schoonmaker completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Computer Art from the School of Visual Arts from 1999 to 2003. The focus of their studies was on Compositing and Dynamic Media.
