Omar Elizondo

Omar Elizondo is an experienced educator and administrator currently serving as Program Grant Manager for Houston ISD since November 2021, where responsibilities include leading the Magnet Schools Assistance Program to enhance educational outcomes for over 200,000 students. Previously, Omar held the positions of Early College Dean and Social Studies Instructional Specialist at Ross Shaw Sterling Aviation High School, focusing on college partnerships and curriculum development for students in aviation-related fields. Earlier experience includes serving as Social Studies Teacher and Athletic Director at Westbury High School and coaching the Girls Varsity Soccer Team at Marlboro Central School District. Omar holds a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction Design for Social Studies from the University of Houston and a Bachelor's degree in History and Political Science from Mount Saint Mary College.
