Laura Niklason, MD, PhD, serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer at Humacyte since 2004, where Laura is also a founder. At Yale University, a position held since 2007, Laura Niklason is the Nicholas M. Greene Professor of Anesthesiology & Biomedical Engineering and Vice Chair for Research Anesthesiology, in addition to being an Adjunct Professor. Previously, Laura Niklason was an Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at Duke University from 1998 to 2005 and worked as a Research Affiliate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1995 to 1998. Additionally, Laura Niklason completed Anesthesiology residency and fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital from 1992 to 1996. Academic qualifications include an MD from the University of Michigan, a PhD in Biophysics from the University of Chicago, and dual degrees (BS in Physics and BA in Biophysics) from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
